Biography

 
Part of the TJCA community since 2022, Beth currently serves as a seventh-grade Science Teacher. 
 
Her accomplishments include: 
 
  • Earning National Board Certification in 2005 and 2015.
  • Being named Teacher of the Year in multiple schools
  • Being awarded the Star Teacher Award for outstanding growth on the Math EOG
  • Being named an Oustanding Educator in 2017, 2018, and 2019 for having the top growth in North Carolina as well as in the Cleveland County Schools district.
 
She earned a:
 
  • Bachelor of Science in K-6 from Appalachian State University. 
 
Outside of work, Beth is a wife and a mom. She and her family love the mountains and are all graduates of Appalachian State. When she is not teaching, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, reading, shopping, and loving on her dog Roxi. She is also very involved at her church where she serves as a Sunday School Teacher, the Children's Choir Director, and is a member of the Adult Choir and Adult Handbell Choir. She also works part-time at the Ruby C Hunt YMCA.
